　　Foreign Languages College (FLC), formerly known as the Foreign Languages Department set up in 1993, has 4 undergraduate programs in English, Russia, Japanese and German languages and 1 graduate program in foreign linguistics and applied linguistics. Its staff numbers 106, 45 holding Master's degrees, 15 having overseas academic experience, 3 being professors, and 22 being associate professors.

　　FLC has 4 teaching departments---English Department, Department of Occidental Languages, Department of Oriental Languages and Department of General English, and auxiliary sections like the Language Training Center, the Library, and the Audio-visual Center which owns 18 language labs and 2 FM broadcasting stations.

　　FLC has established and maintained academic exchanges and friendly relations with colleges and universities in countries such as South Korea and Australia. In the past few years, the staff has published 300 or so articles and over 40 books in various areas, and has undertaken 10 projects of provincial and school levels. The FLC has always put stress on its teaching quality. In July 2004, the Band-4 English test passing ratio of the university as a whole reached 50.25% due to the hard work and intelligence of the FLC faculty.

　　外国语学院的前身是1993年3月成立的外语系，2002年6月经学校批准更名为外国语学院。

　　目前，全院设有英语、俄语、日语、德语4个本科专业，拥有我校第一个文科专业硕士点外国语言学与应用语言学专业硕士点；现有英、日、德、法、韩等语种专业教师106名，本、专科在校学生1150人，研究生7人。教师中具有研究生学历的45人（含博士学位1人），归国留学人员15人，副教授22人，正教授3人。

　　学院下设英语系、西语系、东语系和大学英语教学部4个教学系（部），设有5个专业教研室、4个大学英语教研室以及外语培训中心、语音室、资料室等教研教辅单位；现有18个专业语音实验室、2个外语调频无线电台。

　　外语学院已与韩国、澳大利亚等国的大学建立了学术和友好关系。几年来，外语学院的教师共发表论文300多篇，出版专著40余部，承担省级和校级项目10项。外语学院历来重视教学质量，在他们的辛勤努力下，我校2004年6月的四级统考过关率达到50.25%，超过全国重点院校平均通过率5个百分点。
