The SIEMENS (Qingdao) innovation center unveiled in the Sino-Germany Eco-Park recently and started operation. The center is the 1st smart manufacture innovation center for industry 4.0 applications outside of Germany, and the only R&D innovation center centered with topic of smart manufacture of SIEMENS in China. The project has invested USD 10 million for high-end lab equipment purchase, senior-level R&D talent introduction and project development. Nearly 20 senior engineers are doing tech innovation, development and application in many areas, including smart manufacturing, robots, modern logistics, big data applications, information security and smart city in the center.
The center will provide digital solutions for manufacturing companies, helping companies to leverage digital tools effectively and enhance competitiveness with Digital Twin technologies, which is able to copy a physical objective with digital methods and simulate its activities in the real world to visualize and digitalize the whole process. With using the technology, the company is able to optimize manufacture efficiency before the real factory is completed. It can enhance profit, production and logistics through the way of simulation, analysis and visualization. (Wang Kai)
