The Qingdao Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau has released the Qingdao environment and air quality appraisal of August recently, and the rate of qualified air is 93.5% in the urban area, days of grade I (excellent) are 19 days, days of grade II (good) are 10 days, days of grade III (slightly polluted) are 2 days. The main pollutant is ozone.

    The statistics shows that since this July Qingdao controls a monthly average pollutant all within the limit for 2 consecutive months, among them pollutants such as PM2.5 is in the best level compared with the same time since 2013.

    Talking about Qingdao Blue that is going to be the New Normal in Qingdao, Sun Meng, the engineer of the Qingdao Municipal Air Quality Report and Alert Center said, besides all kinds of energy-saving pollution-reducing and environmental protection measures taken by Qingdao, high quality air is also the result of excellent weather conditions.

    In order to control air pollution in the summer season, Qingdao has released an Action Plan for Control Volatile Organic Compound and Burning Coal Pollution in Summer Season 2016 of Qingdao and Special Action Plan for Auto Pollution Control in Summer Season 2016, the city has adopted measures in many aspects, including VOC control in key industries, special control of lampblack in catering industry, low discharge of coal burning boiler reform, to prevent air pollution, the city also puts great efforts in curbing flying dust and monitoring dust pollution in the construction site, and organizing law enforcement bureaus to shut down illegal stone factories, and it achieved great effects.

    Another reason behind is that severely polluted factories moved away respectively, and Qingdao Blue can be realized.
