Jiaozhou Bay is called the mother bay of Qingdao and has been selected as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. According to the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Planning, Qingdao is compiling pan-Jiaozhou Bay urban design work from a general aspect and integrating the planning history of the round bay area. Currently, the draft plan has been finished.

    At present Qingdao has entered the brand new era of leaping development and transformation from a “coastal city” to “gulf city” and an open, dynamic and high-end international gulf-type city can be built across the Jiaozhou Bay. Qingdao has been insisting on the development idea all the time and unswervingly that Jiaozhou Bay area is taken as the core of the space expansion strategy. Round Jiaozhou Bay has already become an area in Qingdao with the largest population and most urban construction and integration of many high-end economic modes including port logistics, high and new technology, finance and commerce, tourism culture, and commercial entertainment. The east, north, and west bay areas are well connected with the help of many significant transportation means such as cross-sea bridge, subsea tunnel and urban expressway. It is a region with complex urban functions; highly centralized economy and convenient transport system.
