On January 18th, the vessel named “Haoda 67” loaded with 5,800 tons of barley berthed in the multifunctional wharf in Qingdao Dongjiakou Port. This is the first vessel berthing operation with the highest conveying speed and most advanced loading and offloading technique. It marks that the Qingdao Dongjiakou Port has become the port with the largest bulk grain loading and offloading capability in Yellow River.
The Qingdao Port and Maersk, the world shipping giant co-invested to construct this multifunctional wharf, which can berth a 120,000-ton vessel with an annual cargo throughput of 3.35 million tons. The wharf is equipped with the most advanced grain handling system in Qingdao sea area and has the conveying speed of 2,000 tons per hour. There are 26 concrete silos and each silo can hold the capacity of 10,000 tons. Each silo possesses many advanced functions including direct lifting, automatic cargo sampling and safety intelligent detection.
